License Renewal Process: The process to renew in this state is to log in to the licensing system online and follow the prompts to renew.
Post-Licensing: Sales licensees are required to take 14 hours of mandatory commission developed modules for the first renewal. Sales licensees must complete the 7-hour general module and either the 7-hour residential module OR the 7-hour commercial module.
Broker Price Opinion (BPO): Pennsylvania requires that a licensee who wishes to prepare a Broker Price Opinion (BPO) must first complete initial education. A salesperson may not prepare a broker price opinion unless the salesperson has held an active license for 3 years.
The Commission has approved the following broker prelicensure courses to satisfy the initial education requirement: Valuation of residential property, Valuation of income-producing property, Basic appraisal principles, and Basic appraisal procedures. Additionally, thereafter, for each future BPO, a 3-hour BPO continuing education course must be completed during the current or immediately preceding 2-year license period. The CE Shop does not currently offer a BPO CE course.
